ABOUT LUC LEVESQUE

lu-levesque-about

I love building high-performing teams, leading online consumer products and growing them to reach millions of people.

When I was 21, I founded www.travelpod.com, the world’s first travel blogging platform. 10 years later, Expedia acquired us. As a general manager at Expedia, I led the creation of two award-winning products: TripWow and the Traveler IQ Challenge. Then, as an executive at TripAdvisor I built and lead the growth team which helped TripAdvisor become the world’s largest travel site across 55 international sites in 29 languages.

Today, as an advisor I help companies like Twitter, Pinterest and Quora grow. I’m also a Director of Product Management at Facebook where I lead an amazing team tackling some inspiring opportunities that have the potential to positively impact the lives of billions of people.

I’m passionate about leadership and have had some of my thoughts featured in the New York Times. I am also honored to have received the International Executive of the Year Award and the Ottawa Business Journal Forty Under 40 Award.

My team knows that above everything else, I value speed.

My early life and career revolved around technology. When I was 15, I got hooked on creating consumer products by building and hosting a BBS in my parent’s basement. I then held several roles helping to code, build and design the Internet’s early infrastructure and software. Although I don’t get to dive into code much these days, my experience with and love for technology has come in handy when leading new consumer products and growing them. Leadership is my focus these days as I constantly look for ways to build and lead amazing, highly motivated and talented teams.

When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my family or traveling the world.
