lu-levesque-aboutI love building and growing teams, leading online products and optimizing SEO, SEM, viral and whatever else it takes to scale online businesses to reach millions of customers. When I was 21, I founded www.travelpod.com, the world’s first travel blogging platform. 10 years later,  TripAdvisor/Expedia acquired us. As general manager at Expedia and then at TripAdvisor, I led the creation of two award-winning products: TripWow (“WebAward for Outstanding Achievement” – Web Marketing Association) and the Traveler IQ Challenge (Excellence in Social Media – CNMA).

 

Today, as an advisor, I help companies like Twitter, Pinterest and Quora grow and as an executive at TripAdvisor I lead an amazing team that I’ve worked hard to build. At TripAdvisor, I’m responsible for growth from our main distribution channels on the world’s largest travel site across 55 international sites in 29 languages.

 

My team knows that above everything else, I value speed.

 

We work at a very large scale and move fast. My employees know that above everything else, I value speed. The rest of the world now also knows as well since The New York Times featured a tool I developed called The Leader Blueprint, a downloadable leadership tool to help new employees be rockstars. I am also honoured to have received the Ottawa Business Journal Forty Under 40 Award and the International Executive of the Year Award.

 

My roots are deep in technology (deep, deep). This comes in very handy when building out new products, growth hacking and leading new initiatives. Leadership is my focus these days as I constantly look for ways to improve efficiency and defy expectations with our results. When I’m not working, I’m blogging, speaking, advising, spending time with my family or traveling somewhere.

Luc serves as a growth advisor to companies like Twitter, Pinterest, and Quora.  He has been featured in the New York Times for his unique leadership style such as The Leader Blueprint, a downloadable tool to help new employees be rockstars. He was awarded the Under 40 Award by the Ottawa Business Journal and the International Executive of the Year Award.
