Update: Hello Shopify, Goodbye Facebook.

Update: After 3 years at Facebook, I’m excited to share that I’m joining Shopify as the Head of International Growth working from Palo Alto

Tobi Lutke ( Shopify’s founder ) and I have talked about working together for over 10 years but the timing was never quite right. A few weeks ago Tobi and I met again and talked about how we could make it work… and this time, all of the stars finally lined up.

My plans were to start another company after FB but I’ve decided that this opportunity was too exciting to pass up and am hitting the pause button on that.  It’s been incredible to see what Shopify has been able to build. The team is world-class and they’ve done such an amazing job growing from humble beginnings into a global phenomenon. I’m psyched to join them to help Shopify show the world what a Canadian company can do and am looking forward to working with my old Ottawa friends.

I’d like to thank Mark Zuckerberg, KX, Chris Cox and Stan Chudnovsky for the opportunities I’ve had at Facebook and all of the great people I’ve had the chance to meet there. I’ll miss everyone, please stay in touch!
